Please Distribute Widely Dear Colleague, In the coming days we will be announcing 40 scholarships for the 2012 School of Authentic Journalism, so it's a good moment to release the latest Narco News TV production, in which Javier Sicilia, the Mexican poet and journalist who inspired a national movement against the war on drugs, spoke at last year's Narco News j-school about his struggle and the necessary role of journalists in it. Sicilia, a longtime friend of this project, took questions from our scholars from Egypt to Brazil and other lands in an evening that was memorable for its news content, words of inspiration and grief, and the graduation ceremony of the School of Authentic Journalism, during which Sicilia was the first to receive his diploma. And, as prelude to the coming announcement of the 2012 scholarships, we can give you an advance tip that Sicilia will be returning to the School of Authentic Journalism as a professor next March, along with several new professors, including Vanity Fair senior writer (and America's foremost critic) James Wolcott, among other talented teachers to be announced shortly. Enjoy (and learn lots) from the new video at: http://www.narconews.com And stay tuned for more exciting announcements, as well as our continued reporting on the struggle against the drug war and so many other vital stories.
