4.5-magnitude quake hits Taiwan & China !

BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- A 4.4-magnitude earthquake jolted off Kaohsiung county, Taiwan at 6:31 p.m. Thursday Beijing Time, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 6 km, was determined to be at 22.5degrees north latitude and 120.3 degrees east longitude, the center said.

The U.S. Geological Survey put the magnitude of the quake at 5.1.

4.6-magnitude earthquake jolts northwest China

BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- A 4.6-magnitude earthquake jolted Turpan of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China at 12:09 p.m. Sunday Beijing Time, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.

The epicenter, with a depth of five km, was determined to be at 43.4degrees north latitude and 89.3 degrees east longitude, the center said.
